Project #1 Robbie Litchfield

Alex Rodriguez (A-Roid, A-Dope, K-Rod, Gay-Rod, A-Fraud etc.) has done a lot to make himself the most hated player in baseball history, but has more recently found new ways to piss people off through the use of digital media. In the midst of a huge court case with Major League Baseball, the frustrated Yankee third baseman continues to put his foot in his mouth with some controversial tweets and texts.

This is my first transformation using Photoshop. I first flipped the original picture horizontally. Then I selected the subject and placed it on a background. The sign in the background says, "The Truth," which is supposed to signify A-Rod running from the truth. I also used "spot healing" to get rid of unwanted text on the original sign.

Unfortunately this is not a great picture but hopefully I will get better the more I use photoshop; it's a modest start.

Overarching Question: Are social media a new, positive way for professional athletes to interact with fans or are they dangerous tools that wield great, unprecedented power?

Thesis: I believe that social media are powerful tools used by professional athletes to interact with fans on a whole new personal level. However, with this great, uncensored power comes great responsibility, the responsibility to not abuse the power to do more harm than good.
